I need to figure out pretty soon what I want to do after May 2011. I’m struggling with this, but know that I need to start with what I know. 

General things I want to learn more about:

• Wine & Food—this goes beyond just a personal desire to eat and drink good things, I’m generally curious about this industry. About production (with wine) and the restaurant business in general.
• International brands—how their image is promoted around the world. Again, typically think of food and beverage—fast food chains, coffee shops, etc. 
• It’s lunch time…maybe I’m just hungry, but i’m sure there is more…for now, focus on food.

Things I’m good at/strengths:

• Being a leader—have always been driven to be on boards or hold leadership positions. for me, it is not a means to build a resume, I truly enjoy doing it and my interaction with other leaders with whom I serve and my relationship to the clubs at large.
• Organization
• Editing
• Writing
• Honesty (but have to be caution not to be brutal)
• Ethical/Moral
• Pay attention to detail. Mom always has me pay attention to things and recall them later. I have a “good eye.”
• Professional

Weaknesses:

• Being on time
• Procrastination
• Talking on the phone
• Harsh or demanding—lack of sensitivity towards others
• Comparing
• Self-doubt, holding myself to too high of standards

Things I’m sure of:

• Large cities exhaust me (no NYC, probs no Chicago…just, depends)
• I want babies.
• I’d love to travel more—and if it was for work that would be a nice means
• I would like to utilize Spanish in some capacity 
• I do not need a large home or fancy car
• My husband and kids will always be more important than my career—if I have to sacrifice a promotion or a big executive position so as not to compromise this, than so be it.
• I hate asking for money, fundraising. I realize companies need to be sales driven, but despite being competitive…I am not driven to sell more than the next guy. I would pay my own money that I worked for to buy out of candy fundraising sales back when I danced.

Things I’ve thought about doing after graduation:

• Marketing Research
• Law School
• Consumer Behaviour (?)

If I were to go into law school:

• Brand rights—Intellectual property lawyer—especially if I could get involved with international brands…protecting them in foreign markets
• Franchising/Licensing contracts—related to above…thinking about chains Starbucks, fast food industry, pizza hut, etc.
• Corporate law…still want to utilize business background.
